Do you have little or no experience with soccer? No problem, we can help! US Soccer has developed a grassroots training program to assist recreational coaches gain the skills they need to succeed.

These 2-hour online courses have been developed to teach 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 instruction. 

The focus of the grassroots course is to share best practices in creating a fun, educational, activity-centered and age-appropriate environment for youth players.

Additionally,  Atascadero Soccer will teach you based on the age level you are coaching. Unique age-appropriate coach training is one of our specialties. If you plan to be at your child's soccer practices and games, you'll also have time to be your child's coach.
 
Becoming a Cal South coach (all trainings can be completed online), is easy and we are here to assist you along the way:

1. Sign up to coach when you sign up your player to play.
2. Complete the Live Scan process.(if you have not coached with Cal South previously) 
3. Take your online license.
4. Take the concussion course.
5. Take the Sudden Cardiac arrest course.
6. Take the SafeSport Course.

Optionally, we will have some in person coaching clinics to help as well.

Coaches are essential to the game. They teach children soccer skills and help develop a healthy, positive attitude, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Coaching is a rewarding experience because you have the opportunity to build a child's self-esteem, help them learn new skills and just have a lot of fun.
